Manchester Metropolitan

Today I went off to Manchester Metropolitan University with college to visit the exhibition which shows the work of final year art and design students from Manchester School of Art.

Manchester Metropolitan University is the largest campus-based undergraduate university in the UK with a total student population of more than 37,000. Manchester claims to be the University for World Class professionals with an emphasis on vocational education and employability.

Here are the pictures I’ve taken of my favorite works.
I really like the use of thread

I really like how detailed and intricate his work was, and the materials he has used to create the overall effect.  I also think the way he has displayed and put together is work was really good. I managed to speak with the student who created this work. I asked him where he got his inspiration from, and he replied with;
‘I often get inspiration from collecting ruined or destroyed objects and creating something new out of them'

I like how she has used continuous line with stitch and ink in her work, I like the overall.

After seeing how collage and paint can be combined together it has given me inspiration to try this out in my work and experiment with different materials
